Although it’s less than 55% of the weight of the existing 85mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art*, the all-new 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art actually offers improved image quality. Whatever the shooting conditions it produces exceptionally sharp results right across the frame, gives a clear and delicate rendering performance, and displays beautiful, rich bokeh, making it the perfect option for portrait, wedding and event photographers. The lens boasts five Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements and one aspherical element to help to control optical aberrations including chromatic aberration, flare and ghosting.
Despite having a remarkably small and lightweight body for such a wide-aperture optic, the 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is packed with a range of functionalities including a dust- and splash-proof barrel, a lockable and de-clickable iris ring and a customisable AFL button. The lens also comes with a lockable lens hood.
